Beyond producing

For decades and generations. Valais has accepted its role as a production centre for companies headquartered elsewhere. Whether in the energy, metal or chemical and biopharmaceutical sectors, the corporate headquarters and decision-making centres as well as the associated activities are located outside Valais. However, the world and competition are changing ever faster and it may soon no longer be enough to simply be able to produce. It is time to ask ourselves the right questions and bring the right people together so that our region can capitalise on its long tradition of manufacturing activities and skills and take everything to the next level.

A next level where we grow beyond simple production and become a genuine and internationally recognized region of excellence. In the biopharma sector in particular, we seem to be in a very good starting position and have the necessary ingredients to achieve this lofty goal. It will be a long and rocky road that is definitely worth travelling. This project has the ambition and the potential to outline this path and take the first step.

The project is designed for a period of 18 months. It is divided into two work streams. A first stream focussing on the aspects of people, skills and networks and a second stream that mainly examines the aspects of infrastructure and technology in more detail. The partners of the project are BioArk Visp AG, MINTworld, Lonza Taining Center and representatives of the industry.
