Démonstrateur PF Emissium

The overall project goal is to provide businesses (both producers and consumers) with easy-to-use and reliable software for electricity emissions tracking, benchmarking and reduction as illustrated in Figure 2.

The consortium set-up, which includes the technology provider, power producers/distributors and consumers, will help closely monitor feedback and comments from all parties so that external potential customers could join the project during the pilot or at the next step, and be fast in reacting and integrating any new information or outcome.

The deployment of the pilot solution (MVP) will leverage real-time electricity data provided by a set of power producers and distributors (FMV, OIKEN), as a way to supply environmental impact data, benchmarking and emissions reduction strategies to business consumers (i.e., Novelis, Cities of Sierre and Sion), in a dedicated software interface.

This project would be a first of its kind in Switzerland, and of added value and transparency for companies and households in Valais, who can showcase their true environmental footprint. This is of particular importance for large corporations (above 250 employees and/or 100,000 MWh consumed per year) due to the need to report and comply with EU/Swiss regulations, but also by the strong corporate social responsibility that drives many companies and institutions. In this regard, by partnering with local energy providers, having a complete map of the grid infrastructure, accounting for losses and routing across different grid levels
